Workshops during the 21st Goose Specialist Meeting – 30th January 14:00 – 15:00

Workshop #1: Strengthening the Goose Specialist Group – Thomas Lameris (thomaslameris@gmail.com)

The aim of this round-table discussion will be to find ways to strengthen the IUCN Goose Specialist Group for the future. We will discuss with the participants the current goals and aims of the GSG, what participants themselves find most important, and how we can better reach those aims.

Workshop #2: Goose tracking - possibilities, limitations and experiences Andrea Kölzsch (andrea.koelzsch@ru.nl)

In this workshop we would like to make a start on a comprehensive overview of best practice for goose tracking by species, that could be put on the GSG website. The attached table indicates the focus and information details with some examples. Please help to add more information (before or during the workshop, directly or via E-mail), so that people can look it up before starting new goose tracking projects.

Think beforehand about questions that you have/had or want to answer with tracking, recap what has limited you, and what were potential problems that you have encountered. Bring info about the tag/transmitter models that you have experience with and let us discuss!
