# GSG2025 Goose Specialist Group
The Goose Specialist Group (GSG) of IUCN seeks to strengthen contacts between all researchers on migratory geese populations in the Northern Hemisphere by organizing regular scientific conferences and stimulating research on population dynamics of geese. A vital moment for the sharing of knowledge is the biennial group meeting, in which scientists, conservation experts and nature managers come together to discuss urgent conservation issues and new scientific breakthroughs. These meetings are truly international, bridging knowledge exchange between experts, especially in Europe and Asia, and with guests from America as well. To facilitate participation from both European as well as Asian countries, the meetings are organized in turn between a European and Asian host country. After a previous meeting in Mongolia in 2023, the upcoming meeting will be hosted in Czechia, in South Moravia in Jaunary 2025.
